The Grateful Dead’s New Years shows were the highlight of the year for many of their faithful legions. Bill Graham would pull out all the stops for this annual event. The former Ice rink Winterland where band had performed since 1966 was the site of some of their finest performances over the years.

The final Dead concert at Winterland New Years Eve 1978 is regarded as one of the Dead’s finest performances of all at the historic venue. It was one of those nights where it all worked out seamlessly. The accompanying poster for that show is equally well regarded.

Artist Randy Tuten designed this edition of the concert poster coincidentally the same color as the popular "Blue Rose" issue but including a letter from Graham to the masses about the event.

Condition: bottom left crease.
