This large original poster was created to promote the 5th annual Hooker's Ball, held at the Cow Palace on October 20th, 1978. In the 1970s, self-described prostitute and sex-positive feminist, Margo St. James, was the founder of the COYOTE organization (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics), which advocated decriminalization of prostitution. Fundraising involved an annual hosting of the well-attended Hooker's Ball, which gathered 20,000 attendees in 1978 at the historic Cow Palace.
