The gathering at Watkins Glen in July of 1973 is one of the most memorable events in the annals of Rock history. An estimated 600,000 music fans gathered at a speedway in upstate New York for a day of unbelievable music and good times. At the time this was the largest attendance ever for a rock festival. The Grateful Dead, The Band and The Allman Brothers: three of the most influential and talented electrified purveyors of the American roots music tradition took the stage for this once-in-a-lifetime gathering.
