Timothy Leary was one of the most visible figures of the 1960s counterculture. The one-time Harvard professor was an early advocate of the psychedelic experience and consciousness-expanding substances. In 1970, he was sentenced to prison on prior marijuana charges which kicked him out of the race against Ronald Reagan for Governor of California. After his arrest, the Brotherhood of Eternal Love had Bill Ogden design posters to try and raise bail money for Leary to get out of jail.
