Make no mistake about it this is far more than just a concert poster it is a genuine piece of American history! Why? Because the Tribute to Dr. Strange marks the very beginning of the San Francisco psychedelic era in 1965. This gathering organized by a collective of artists and bohemians known as “The Family Dog” was the spark that lit the flame of all future “happenings”. This concert pre-dates the Grateful Dead and it predates the Acid Tests. The concert features the Jefferson Airplane who came out of the folk movement to be the first San Francisco psychedelic band and the Charlatans fresh off their performance at the Red Dog Saloon in Nevada.
The poster offered here is 100% Original with no restoration. It has a large drawing on the back and CGC is notoriously tough on the back of posters. While no one knows for sure how many posters were originally produced it is certainly FAR less than the 250 produced for Family Dog #1. Proof of this rarity is backed by the near impossible opportunity to acquire one in any condition.
