Here we have the first example of this handbill to ever appear in our auction! This original handbill was created to advertise Love and Rockets appearing at Fender's club in Long Beach California on Friday December 20th 1985. Love and Rockets were former Bauhaus members Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins, who started playing together after Bauhaus split in 1983. Ash and Haskins had recorded and performed in another band, Tones on Tail, between 1982 and 1984.

Love & Rockets' fusion of underground rock music, with elements of pop music provided an early catalyst for alternative rock. "SO ALIVE", their 1989 single, ascended to No. 3 on the Billboard HOT 100 chart.  The band released seven studio albums before breaking up in 1999, reforming briefly in 2007 for a few live shows, before splitting again in 2009.  In 2023, they got back together and announced several tour dates.
