Presenting the first example of this handbill to appear in our auction! This original handbill was created to advertise the film showing of the Neil Young Journey Through the Past movie, debut on June 26th 1974 at the 5th Ave Cinema in Portland Oregon. The film premiered at the United States Film Festival in Dallas, Texas, in April 1973. It was released in theaters in the United States in May 1974, just one month prior to these Portland showings.
Features high contrast photos of early CSNY and larger photo of Neil at bottom, PLUS photos of members of BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD (9 heads featured altogether). Has a simple typeset lettering strip at the bottom of image area which reads "Plus Special Added Attraction: THE GRAND FUNK RAILROAD in their new film "WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND"! Our consignor only saw two (2) copies of this handbill in the 9+ years he hunted music memorabilia in the Portland area!
