This vintage original handbill was produced for Big Brother & The Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) appearing at The Ark in Sausalito on February 23rd, 1967. The show was a benefit for the Valley Peace Center and the artwork design was created by Brighton Goodfellow. During the boon of psychedelic rock, Sausalito became a hangout for many of the Bay Area bands. After they finished their main gigs they would pop over the Bridge and play late night sets at the Ark. The venue was a favorite destination for these shows as it was the only venue open late. The Ark was only open for a short time but many of the SF bands played there including Big Brother, Steve Miller and Santana.
Condition Details: Corner bump and crease, writing on back.
