This New Riders of the Purple Sage concert poster is a collector's favorite. The Armadillo World Headquarters opened in Austin Texas just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It became the premiere venue in that musically rich city from 1970-1980. This legendary club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10-year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere.
In April 2018 another example of this issue realized a high water mark of $1841.00 in our auction. This is a great looking poster designed by Austin artist Micael Priest, that promotes an awesome band! Posters from the Armadillo in Texas are red hot and we see this as just the early days in a long trend.
