This poster has been professionally restored for maximum eye appeal. Restoration includes light pressing to flatten out wrinkles, deacidify, bleach, remove stains, along with some color retouch.
The first example of this ultra scarce Jackals 1984 Anubis Records Promotional Poster to appear in a PAE auction in over 15 years! It features ZAP underground comix & KUSTOM KULTURE artist extraordinaire ROBERT WILLIAMS' "Hungry Ghosts" style oriental looking images from the right side of the LP cover with "JACKALS" in white block lettering vertically on the left side against the black background. "On Sale Now" appears in white on black lettering at the bottom, with the "Anubis Records" logo at the lower right corner area. You won't find another copy of this scarce promo poster on the internet right now, anywhere!
The Jackals were "pants down rockers", as band guitarist David Corboy once asserted. Joined by bassist Steve Casmano (who also played with Corboy in Sado-Nation, earlier in the decade) and Louis Samora, who had left his position as drummer with The Rats to play rhythm guitar in the new band; as well as drummer Robert Parker. Corboy and the Jackals played a stripped-down, snarling, high-energy form of rock that included elements of rockabilly and late 1940s era rhythm & blues.
