$1,560.00
Starting bid: $1.00
This original handbill announces Buffalo Springfield, The Grateful Dead, and Blue Cheer performing at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in November of 1967. The event was promoted by the famed Pinnacle Productions, and was billed as "Amazing Electric Wonders". The handbill is double-sided, with a map on the reverse side.
This very trippy, extremely rare, and beautiful design by John Van Hamersveld is one of the most interesting of all the Grateful Dead's Los Angeles concert material. The powerful graphics and stunning colors of the poster (3.74 in The Art of Rock book) are captivating when viewed up close, and this handbill version here is just the second we've ever auctioned with or without CGC grading! We sold a lower grade 7.0 example last year for 1,800.
Condition: Tape on reverse.
