Presenting a RARE, One of a kind, original poster with test Overprint! The first was designed by Stanley Mouse for the legendary Tribal Stomp concert held at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley CA during October of 1978. Overprinted is the test press run of 1/2 (only) of the 8th Annual North Beach Photo Fair poster (also a SF Bay Area 1978 event), along with three of the card / handbills for the same event (featuring the same fantastique full color artwork by Gilbert Johnson, the same artist that created the 1979 Family Dog Tribal Stomp poster featuring the nude woman stepping across a pair of rainbows and the two dogs wearing human clothing, etc.) In 1993, the consignor acquired this item directly from the collection of JERRY ABRAMS, of the infamous Bay Area 60's light show "Jerry Abrams' Headlights".
The first, and almost certainly the last, appearance of this UNIQUE Overprinted Family Dog Tribal Stomp Press Proof Poster Sheet in a PAE auction in our almost 15 years of auctions!
The Tribal Stomp event was presented by Chet Helms and The Family Dog. Big Brother performed along with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band Canned Heat Country Joe (McDonald) & the Fish and many more. The poster also features a photograph of the "Tribe" of performers by Herb Green.
