We've been reporting for quite some time that interest in Armadillo HQ posters has been really heating up and a great new book on the subject was recently released. These posters have nowhere to go but up when it comes to interest and desirability! This issue by artist Micael Priest promoted New Riders of the Purple Sage at the venue for three nights in June 1975.
The Armadillo opened in Austin just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It went on to become the premiere venue in that musically rich city from 1970-1980.
The legendary music club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10-year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere!
