This Dark Star Orchestra poster from April 2010 was produced by modern artists Chuck Sperry and Dave Hunter for the popular Grateful Dead tribute band's run at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. David Hunter involved himself in the poster scene during the mid 80’s and soon after was organizing poster shows at the Psychedelic Shop in San Francisco. Building his skills as a screen printer it wasn’t long before he began designing posters of his own for big names like Metallica Gov’t Mule Primus Eric Clapton Dr. John and Steve Kimock. Sadly Hunter passed away in May of 2017 but his beautiful posters live on. Chuck Sperry is the modern master of screenprint posters and early works of his like this are increasingly difficult to acquire as the collector's market for artist grows.
