1968 Grateful Dead Warner Brothers Records Thick Stock Promotional Poster Fine 59

This super scarce 1968 Official Warner Brothers Records promo poster for the Grateful Dead. This promo on heavy board stock paper was sent to record stores to promote the Dead early in their career. We believe this poster was distributed around the time between their second and third studio albums.

This is the ONLY copy of this promotional poster printed on card / board stock we have seen thus far! Distribution of these early promotional posters was extremely limited, since they were primarily manufactured to promote Grateful Dead LP's in record stores. The expense of the window card stock limited the number of copies of this variant, versus the same photo Warner Bros. poster printed on thin promo poster stock, which could easily be folded or rolled and mailed for distribution to outlets, while this fairly large board stock version had to be shipped flat and wasn't an easy matter to store. It's highly likely that Warner printed a whole lot more posters on the thin stock, and less copies like this one on card / board stock. 

This ultra scarce & early Grateful Dead card stock poster appears to be far scarcer than nearly ALL of the "rare" sixties Grateful Dead posters, including BG-74, and is easily one of THE rarest of the early Grateful Dead Warner promo posters! It will be a VERY long time before you come across another example!
