This commemorative handbill is signed by the artist Wes Wilson!

This is an official 1991 commemorative post-concert second-printing handbill produced by Wes Wilson. The Trips festival was one of the first major psychedelic events held in San Francisco in the 1960s.  It all started mid-1965 with the Charlatans' run at the Red Dog Saloon followed closely by the Acid Tests the Family Dog’s early shows and Bill Graham's Mime Troupe Benefits.

It was not until January of 1966 that these groups came together and produced "The Trips festival." Conceived by Stewart Brand organized by Bill Graham and fueled by Owsley –  the Trips Festival was essentially an Acid Test on a larger more public scale. However, this three-day immersion course in the psychedelic experience sparked the events that closely followed most significantly the opening of the Fillmore Auditorium and Avalon Ballroom as rock music venues.

Condition: Two creases across handbill.
