We are pleased to present to the collecting community the very first opportunity to acquire this exceedingly rare concert poster at public auction. This poster promotes 2 performances by the Grateful Dead on December 18th and 19th 1973.

The poster’s central image was designed by the legendary poster artist Rick Griffin. In 1973 the year of this concert the Grateful Dead formed their own record label Grateful Dead Records.

The first record released on the label was 1973’s Wake of The Flood. Griffin designed the logo for Grateful Dead Records which appears here as the central image on this poster.

The performances in Tampa were considered legendary so much so that they were chosen as the VERY FIRST “Dick’s Picks”!

This ultra rare poster was folded at some point the evidence being a horizontal crease 9 inches from the bottom. There are two other creases each a few inches in length on the upper left quadrant. All four corners have pinholes with the top corner pinholes torn to the edge. There are also 4-5 small nicks that appear along the top and bottom edge. There are an additional 2 pinholes in the top center and two ultra light tape pulls on the back.

Despite these flaws this poster exhibits wonderful eye appeal and is sure to be highly sought after by the large contingent of advanced Grateful Dead concert poster collectors. An opportunity that may truly be “once in a lifetime” it will be interesting to see who acquires this amazing rarity and for how much!
