This extremely rare, original cardboard poster was created for the legendary Ike and Tina Turner performing at the legendary Club Imperial in Saint Louis on March 26, 1968. Ike & Tina Turner were one of the most powerful and iconic names of the genre. After they attained success, they continued to return to St. Louis and occasionally perform at the Club Imperial. They recorded their first live album, Ike & Tina Turner Revue Live, at the club a few years before this show. This cardboard piece was a Globe Poster Issue, a famous poster company located in Baltimore, Maryland. From its opening in 1929 until its closure in 2010, Globe Poster Company in Baltimore was the go-to place for musicians circuses drag races and concert producers for bold eye-catching letterpress advertising. It's no secret that Globe cardboard concert posters are the gold standard amongst advanced collectors. They rarely show up at public auction and when they do they are always met with enthusiastic bidding!
