A very unique and obscure original 1968 concert poster featuring legendary bands of the era listed to appear at a legendary venue. The Hour Glass (Duane & Gregg Allman pre-Allman Brothers), The Mothers Of Invention, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Quicksilver Messenger Service and many more are featured on this poster for a run of shows scheduled at the Blue Law Ballroom in Torrance California. The May 17th, 18th and 19th dates were advertised as a Survival Benefit for the venue, which was trying to raise money to stay open. Sources report there may have been some kind of legal problem at the time. Many of the bands listed for these events did not perform and several are unconfirmed as performing, including Hour Glass and the Mothers. The venue later changed its name to The Bank - and subsequently produced an incredible series of posters and handbills under that name - some of which you've seen in our previous auctions! Early Duane & Gregg Allman posters are always on everyone's want list. Not to mention, original material from the Blue Law era of this venue is extremely difficult to find. This is the first example of this rare, early poster to appear in our auction!
Condition Details: Creases, foxing, edge toning, edge wear.
