This early cardboard poster was produced for dance performances scheduled on the east coast of lelendary dancer Pearl Primus. This performance blank poster was likely used during the 1940's. Pearl Primus played an important role in the presentation of African dance to American audiences. Early in her career, she saw the need to promote African dance as an art form worthy of study and performance. By the 1940's, her acclaimed performances made it to Broadway on a regular basis.
