This is the FIRST time this original pre-concert printing poster is appearing in our auction, as well as the first time it is appearing in ANY public auction! It announced the iconic psychedelic rock band's appearance at Texas Christian University on November 1st, 1970. A few students at the school were lucky enough to have the opportunity to organize a psychedelic rock concert which both students and locals attended. The show caused quite a stir on the TCU campus, as the religious university was not thrilled with the pot smoking and underage drinking that occurred among the hippie attendees. According to accounts of the event, it was a peaceful event featuring over three hours of music that included Hot Tuna taking over pieces of the set in order to give Grace Slick, who was pregnant at the time, a break. The university allegedly cut the budget for campus rock concerts after the event, but students managed to bring The Grateful Dead to the school the following year!
