Presenting just the second CGC-graded example of this historic (large handbill) poster to appear in our auction. While CGC has labeled this as a handbill, the measurements are certainly that of a poster! This concert honored J.R.R Tolkien's hero from the epic fantasy Novel "The Hobbit." It featured an early San Francisco appearance of the new addition to Big Brother & The Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin who arrived a month earlier after being persuaded by Chet Helms. We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer this incredible piece of early 1966 history to the collecting community.
