The Clash were without a doubt a major leader in the British punk rock and New Wave movements of the late seventies and early eighties. This original cardboard poster promotes their run of shows in Hollywood during June of 1982 in support of their fifth studio album "Combat Rock". This piece was produced by Colby Printing before the concerts.
The historic Colby Poster Printing Company produced promotional material between 1948 and 2012 and they became legendary for their signature fluorescent inks and bold all-caps typography although none of the original staff had any formal design training. They were members of the letterpress union the screen printers union and the typesetters union.
