This print by artist Robert Williams titled "Appetite for Destruction" was produced in 1989 by L'Imagerie Gallery. The image was chosen by Guns N' Roses as the original cover artwork for their debut album of the same name. However, due to the graphic violent nature of the image, several retailers refused to stock the album, and the label replaced the cover image with one of a Celtic cross decked out with skulls representing each of the 5 band members.
Robert Williams was one of the artists and producers behind Zap Comix and founded the Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine in 1994, which has the largest circulation of any art magazine in the United States. His own brand of psychedelic imagery makes for truly amazing and unique pieces of artwork, such as the one seen here. This is a limited-edition print of which only 350 examples were produced!
