The legendary venue's full name of CBGB & OMFUG stands for "Country, Bluegrass, Blues and Other Music for Uplifting Gormandizers". The theme, along with poetry readings, yielded to the movement into punk rock. The Ramones played their first shows at CBGB. Original flyers from this era of this legendary venue seldom surface and are highly collectible.
