This handbill is signed by the artist, Randy Tuten!
Presenting a rare Alernate handbill (with Zeppelin "Sold Out" on the listing) appearing in our auction for the first time! This is a handbill created by artist Randy Tuten for the 1977 Mid Summer Music Festival. Spanning 3 months the list of performers covers appearances at several historic and legendary venues like The Cow Palace Oakland Coliseum Greek Theater and Winterland Arena. The concerts were all presented by Bill Graham.
Notable is the bottom left of this handbill which advertises the legendary Day on the Green #6 & #7 Led Zeppelin shows at Oakland Stadium. (We have previously auctioned the famous poster!) These handbills were printed in several different variants and versions leading up to the show dates advertised, which makes them very unique. Other versions exhibit a different layout of bands / venues and this one here has a "Sold Out" banner printed across the Zeppelin plug.
These dates were some of the most infamous in the history of this powerhouse band. According to accounts members of Led Zeppelin's crew beat the crap out of a member of Bill Graham's staff in retaliation for a backstage incident involving a crew members' son. These concerts were to be the last US Led Zeppelin Concerts ever staged!
Condition: top left crease.
