The Trips festival was one the most significant events in psychedelic history. This famous three day event that kicked of 1966 was held at Longshoreman’s Hall in San Francisco. The event was essentially an Acid Test that was slightly more organized. All of the early players were present. The Grateful Dead and the pranksters were in their full glory and Bill Graham was enlisted to bring some sort of order to the chaos. Within a few weeks he had leased the Fillmore…..the rest is history. This extremely rare flyer for the event is one of the hardest pieces of Trips festival ephemera to obtain. This piece is the BG version and the calligraphy was done by Peter Bailey who is known for creating the very first BG Fillmore poster. This piece surfaces less frequently than the Wes Wilson Handbill. A true treasure for any Acid test/Trips fest collector. This flyer is a must have for any serious collector. One of the most famous events of the San Francisco Psychedelic scene a super rare find. This handbill measures 6 9/16” x 9 11/16 ad is in incredible mint condition. There are 4 small red streaks in the body of the flyer and a light smudge above the “R” in TRIPS. This handbill is featured in the Art of The Fillmore on page 25.An incredibly rare in historic item the only one we’ve ever seen offered.
