1970 AOR-4.132 Dead The Band Janis Toronto Poster 4.5

Here we have a relic from one of the more exciting events in the history of Rock and Roll! Originally billed as the Trans continental Pop festival this cross country tour made stops in three Canadian cities to stage a show with the Grateful Dead, The Band, Janis Joplin and other acts of the day. This poster advertises the McMahon Stadium concerts in Toronto on July 4th and 5th 1970.

The real story however was the train that carried the musicians across Canada during that summer. The camaraderie led to an outrageous non-stop party / jam session. The joy is forever captured in the 2003 Film, Festival Express.
