Here we are offering a poster drawn by Rick Griffin for a 1972 film by Kenneth Anger named Lucifer Rising. The imagery of the poster borrows from French engraver & illustrator Gustave Dore. Kenneth Anger was an innovative experimental filmmaker who worked almost entirely in short films. He is recognized as one of America's first openly gay director and his role in making gay culture visible within American cinema was important. He also focused much of his work upon occult themes, being fascinated by the notorious English occultist Aleister Crowley.
