The Grateful Dead in 1973 were on the cusp of a transition in their sound and songwriting. Pigpen was no longer in the mix and the keyboard style of Keith Godchaux created new textures in the group's compositions. This poster designed by Randy Tuten advertised two nights in Providence during the month of September however the first night (9/14) was canceled at the last minute.

The show on the 15th rocked hard and the soundboard recording has circulated between fans for decades as a deadhead favorite. This concert was one month prior to the release of their album "Wake of The Flood" which featured many of the newer tunes in the set including the full Weather Report Suite.
