1972 AOR-4.125 Rick Griffin Yellow Paper Variant Poster

This is the original variant printing on yellow paper stock. The yellow stock version was printed on much thinner paper, which made it far more fragile in its battle against time, so nice copies are slightly scarcer than the thicker paper white stock version of the poster.

If you are looking for an Original Printing Rick Griffin poster that has it all, this one is for you. Though the show in the design is dated 1968, Griffin made this poster years later in 1972 as a commemorative piece. Gordon McClelland, Rick Griffin's former partner & Publisher at California Graphix Exchange, states that the original Captain Beefheart concert at Crawford Hall had been canceled. Gordon also notes that California Graphix Exchange only printed a total of 1,000 copies of this poster, which includes both the white paper and light yellow paper versions. Rick's artwork primarily comprised of a page he originally created for ZAP Comix.
