We are pleased to offer the collecting community an extremely RARE and difficult to find, Original First Printing of the NR-9 poster! This issue is one of the most sought after of the series and most collectors need this pre-concert OP-1 issue to complete their collection.

This original poster is the 9th produced by artist Victor Moscoso for his retinal burning Neon Rose series. It was printed in March 1967 for a run of shows at the Matrix in San Francisco featuring Wildflower. They were early proponents of psychedelic folk rock. Precursors to the hippies the Wildflower were at the very beginnings of the folk-psych music scene.

Victor Moscoso had an arrangement with the management of the Matrix to produce a series of posters for shows at this small club in the Marina. Of the approximately 2000 posters printed the club would use a few hundred for publicity. The bulk of the remaining posters were retained by the artist.

The Matrix hosted many Blues and folk acts along with the emerging San Francisco sound. Early material from this venue is super scarce and currently undervalued relative to their historical importance and design.

Condition: Pinholes, tape on reverse, stain top right corner.
