This one-of-a-kind original art is signed by the artist, Alton Kelley and dated 1969!
We are pleased to present this piece of ORIGINAL ART by the late great Alton Kelley! This artwork was designed to promote the opening of the Orson Welles Cinema in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The opening occurred on April 8th, 1969, and the cinema operated until 1986. It was known for showing independent and foreign films, and hosted an annual 24-hour Science Fiction Film Marathon for a decade. The Orson Wells Cinema was well loved by the Boston and Cambridge area Film community.
This item features a drawing on thick card stock paper, with some elements cut and pasted on top, college style. The center of the design was later used on the album cover for Mickey Hart's 1972 album, Rolling Thunder!
