1963 Bob Dylan Monterey Folk Festival Handbill

This handbill announced the Monterey Folk Festival, a three-day event in Monterey California in May of 1963. Performers included Bob Dylan, Doc Watson, Jerry Garcia, Joan Baez, The Dillards, Peter Paul Mary, and more. This festival was Dylan's FIRST-ever west coast performance! The appearance of Jerry Garcia is also noteworthy, as this was a few years before the Grateful Dead would come into existence. It is likely that Jerry played the banjo at the event! This is the FIRST time this handbill is appearing in our auction, and it is 100% original with no restoration!
