1960 Ray Charles Brooklyn Academy of Music Handbill

This Ray Charles handbill advertised an appearance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on October 30th, 1960! His version of Georgia On My Mind hit #1 about 2 weeks after this show! Ray Charles' legacy is celebrated across the globe as one of the most important musicians of our time. His version of Georgia on My Mind was proclaimed the state song of Georgia and an emotional Charles performed the song on the floor of the state legislature in 1980.
