Rick Griffins Masterpiece Aoxomoxoa is one of the most beautiful and requested Grateful Dead posters of all time. This CGC high graded example of the large, difficult to find FIRST PRINTING poster is 100% Original with NO RESTORATION! A lower 6.0 graded example of this rare treasure reached $1,680 in our February 2021 auction.

The image was created for a 1969 Avalon Ballroom performance by the Dead and was soon thereafter appropriated by the band as cover art for their third LP. It's only fitting that one of Griffin's finest works was for one of the most beloved groups of all time, The Grateful Dead.

There are plenty of mindblowing posters that were created for run of the mill bands, and there is an equal number of run of the mill posters created for great bands. But there are precious few superlative posters that were created for legendary bands. This poster obviously is THE DEFINITION of a World Class poster. The BEST ART from the era's BEST ARTIST for what many consider the era's BEST BAND!
