We at PAE are huge Neil Young fans so when something special like this passes through our doors it's a cause for celebration. This is an original Warner Brothers / Reprise Records LARGE promotional poster for Neil's treasured 1974 album On The Beach!
Bob Seidemann took the album cover photograph which is slightly different than this promo image which depicts Neil facing us with a smile, whereas the album cover shows his back to us as he gazes at the ocean. MORE NOTEWORTHY the late great RICK GRIFFIN created the beautiful lettering which graces the top of this promo poster & album cover art.
For 20 years the rarity of the record created kind of a cult with Neil's hardcore fans. The album was deleted from vinyl in the early 1980s and was only briefly available on cassette. For many years a lot of us were listening to old warped copies with skips. Beginning in 1999 over 5,000 Neil Young fans signed an online petition asking for the re-release of the album on CD. It was finally re-released in 2003 and there was MUCH rejoicing. Ambulance Blues could very well be his best song ever.
This original promotional poster is in great condition, with only factory folds from when it was originally sent out to retailers.
