The first appearance of this issue in a PAE auction! This rare, first printing poster was produced to advertise Ike & Tina Turner on Thursday September 27, 1973 at the Portland Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. This gig happened during their mainstream success period.
Offset printing on thick index stock, it features a fantastic airbrush illustration of Ike & Tina with a small spaceship by Tina's gyrating hip. There were probably only around 500 copies of this poster produced to promote this gig.
Ike & Tina Turner released Nutbush City Limits (written by Tina) in August of 1973, which peaked at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on the R&B chart. The Turners received the first ever awarded Golden European Record Award, since Nutbush City Limits sold more than one million records in Europe.
