We are excited to offer this RARE poster for the first time in our auction! It was created for the "Dana Beal Benefit Boogie", an event that took place at the Hotel Diplomat in New York on February 4th, 1972. Performers included David Peel and the Lower East Side, Evil, Teenage Lust, and Uncle Bucks. Dana Beal was a founder of the Yippie movement. In July 1971, Beal was arrested and detained in Madison, Wisconsin for marijuana possession. This benefit concert was held to help free Beal. Beal is a longtime marijuana activist who is still active today. Last year, he organized the "Joints for Jabs NYC" event that encouraged vaccination against COVID-19. This poster is an incredible piece of history!
