1971 Allman Brothers Celebration of Life Fest Poster

This poster was for an obscure and long forgotten 1971 music festival that was named The Celebration of Life. It was a poorly organized event in McCrea Louisiana that delivered only a fraction of the bands that were originally billed.

The festival was planned to be an eight day event in the rural Cypress Point Plantation but the promoters fell short on talent money and organizational skills. The result was a fiasco that was delayed for three days and was significantly lacking in basic amenities for the approximately 50,000 that did attend.

Many bands listed on the promotional material did not perform. It has been recorded that Pink Floyd (not listed on the poster) traveled to the event to perform but also did not make it to the stage.
