This original handbill was produced for the April 26 1967 showing of the Video Sutra II presented by KQED-TV on Channel Nine. It included footage of Andy Warhol poetry readings by Michael McClure and performances by the Grateful Dead and others. Some of the Dead video segments were officially released many years later on the Backstage Pass video containing a live version of the Pigpen romp Hard to Handle.

This episode of the series ran an hour long and Andy Warhol also appears in the video. It's not secret there is no bigger name in the art and collectibles world than Andy Warhol. During one segment of the video Beat playwright Michael McClure does some super weird antics one of which includes speaking to a lion named God while playing the auto-harp.

Michael McClure produced The Beard stage play a year earlier and it's a true gem from the era. Although not a musical event The Beard was a perfect illustration of how inspired young artists pushed the envelope and created a new culture - much in the same way this Video Sutra did. This vintage 1967 handbill is 100% Original with no restoration!
