This beautiful image is considered the most desirable and valuable Randy Tuten Grateful Dead poster from the BG series. This famous event was a benefit to raise legal defense funds for the Dead after their infamous 1970 New Orleans bust where they were “busted down on Bourbon Street.” The “monochrome” version of this poster the one offered here is exceedingly rare and highly sought after.
In fact many collectors believe this poster is the rarest BG poster out there after the BG1 BG2 and BG74.
This is the FIRST and ONLY example of this rarity to appear at public auction that has been independently graded and authenticated by CGC. It is also just the FOURTH BG 222 MONO to appear at public auction in the past 10 years!
This example is 100% Original with no restoration whatsoever. There is a ¼” horizontal tear on the left edge 6 inches down from the upper left corner. There are 2 sets of staple holes in 3 of the 4 corners. There are 4 sets of staple holes in the lower right corner. The diameter of these staple holes is microscopic as they were created by staples not thumbtacks. Despite these flaws this is a special opportunity for the advanced collector that may not present itself for a long time to come!.
