Presenting only the second appearance of this rare issue in our auction! This gig was a benefit for Robert Scheer and the Vietnam Day Committee (aka V.D.C.). The VDC were the primary organizing group supporting the Anti-War Protests in the Bay Area and elsewhere. Robert Sheer was a writer for Ramparts Magazine, as well as running as an Anti-War Political Candidate for Congress in the Democratic Primary.

The event included appearances by The Amazing Charlatans, The SF Mime Troupe, Kesey & The Pranksters, Mira Dasein, Robbie Basho, P.H. Phactor Jug Band and Solomon Feldthouse, who went on to achieve legendary status in the psychedelic rock band Kaleidoscope.

Although mention of an Acid Test is not included on either of the concert posters, since LSD was still legal at the time of the concert, the presence of the Merry Pranksters, along with the fact that this was an all night show, imply that this event had a lot in common with other openly identified Acid Tests happening during the mid 60's in the S.F. Bay Area. The Police could not legally interfere with an all night Acid Party to raise funds for a political cause.
