This large and amazingly beautiful poster features an incredible design by counterculture artist Robert Rush. Just 500 posters were originally produced and this poster is STILL available at a super reasonable price point compared to every other major collectible.

The headlining band Lord August & The Vision of Light were a San Antonio group fronted by keyboardist Augie Meyers of Texas Tornadoes and the Sir Douglas Quintet Fame. The Georgetown Medical Band were in support for these January 1968 shows. The material that was created for the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin Texas in the 1960s are some of the most desirable and valuable in the entire genre of Psychedelic Concert art.

Austin Texas has a rich musical tradition dating back to the 1930s. Often spoken of in the same breath as Nashville and New Orleans Austin is considered an American sweet spot of musical collaboration and innovation. During the 1960s a small group of students began promoting Psychedelic and Blues concerts in the Austin area. They were originally known as the Electric Grandmothers. Later they became the Vulcan Gas Company and eventually opened a venue under the same name.

The Vulcan Gas Co. was responsible for a wonderful series of concert posters that are very scarce and beautiful. Very few of these posters exist in ANY condition today and the few that have surfaced over the years have been mostly restored. This example is in HIGH-QUALITY CONDITION!
