A very rare first printing poster for a pacific northwest event that was ultimately cancelled. This is easily the most ultra mega scarce of all of the 1960s Oregon Grateful Dead concert posters. It's far scarcer than the Portland NOTICE posters, as well as one of THE scarcest Grateful Dead music festival posters from the late 1960s!

The originally announced Bullfrog 2 music festival was be held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in St. Helens, Oregon, although a few days prior to the three-day event was to unfold, the Columbia County Fair Board reneged on their contract, obstructing the entire gig. That triggered hundreds of hippies to appear in St. Helens to peacefully demonstrate their decision to cancel the event, up until the Board opted to allow the festival to take place in the town of Happy Hollow area of Yankton, after Ms. Melvina Pelletier offered her property for the festival.

Thus, the Bullfrog 2 music festival was cancelled, and the Bullfrog 3 three-day festival grew out of its ashes, which drew an estimated crowd of 6,000. That event featured the Grateful Dead, who gigged on stage on Saturday, August 23rd, 1969.
