We are beyond thrilled to present the EARLIEST James Brown poster we have ever handled! This incredibly rare cardboard item advertised a "big teen-age dance" at the Copa Club in Columbus, OH on July 28 1956! James Brown performed with the Famous Flames, his first band, with support from Fats Gonder. The hardest working man in show business toured relentlessly in the fifties sixties seventies and eighties. He earned names like The Godfather of Soul and Mr. Dynamite and he's forever celebrated as one of the top performers of this era! The late great Little Richard - a friend of Brown's - helped get the group a new manager during this time and helped inspire one of the band's first successful singles "Please Please Please" (listed on the poster). This is a classic piece of rock n' roll history, and your chance to own an original boxing-style piece from the 1950s! This item is unlikely to appear in our auction again anytime soon.
