Here’s your chance to acquire the highest graded CGC example of this poster to ever appear at public auction!

This Wes Wilson creation was for a performance by “The American Theatre” of The Beard that was promoted by Bill Graham at The Fillmore.  The Beard was a play by beat playwright and poet Michael McClure. This shocking counter culture performance pushed the envelope and embodied everything that was so life changing about late 1960’s performance art music and culture. It also produced this beautiful popular poster that was produced in exceedingly small quantities in 1966.

This example is the finest CGC example to appear at public auction. It is superb in all respects and our close examination reveals no flaws of any kind. The whites are blindingly bright the colors are bold and fresh and the paper is super crisp. It is 100% ORIGINAL with no restoration of any kind.

Two other CGC graded examples have been previously auctioned. Both previously auctioned examples were graded 9.2 and brought $817 and $862. It will be interesting to see what type of premium the market will assign to this superb and flawless example that is in a different universe quality wise.
