This vintage headshop poster from 1968 exhibits angels behind President Lyndon Johnson, as he sits in an overstuffed easy chair looking down at a skeleton. The Great Society was an ambitious series of policy initiatives, legislation and programs spearheaded by President Johnson to end poverty, reduce crime and improve the environment. Johnson began his presidency with near universal support, however his approval declined throughout his presidency as people became frustrated with the Vietnam War.
