This poster was created for the legendary Ike and Tina Turner performing at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on July 21st, 1973. This cardboard piece was a Globe Poster Issue, a famous poster company located just down the road from where this concert occurred in Baltimore, MD.
From its opening in 1929 until its closure in 2010 Globe Poster Company in Baltimore was the go-to place for musicians circuses drag races and concert producers for bold eye-catching letterpress advertising. It's no secret that Globe cardboard concert posters are the gold standard amongst advanced collectors.
