This linen-backed, SUPER RARE first printing poster was designed for Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention appearing at the Balloon Farm in New York on November 23, 1966. This item has never appeared in our auction before and is unlikely to appear again anytime soon!
Zappa and the Mothers had just released their debut studio album "Freak Out!" in June of that year which was a sharp satirical expression of Zappa's view of American pop culture. This falls in line with why the layout of this poster of the same name reads like a newspaper. Also worthy of note, the album was produced by Tom Wilson (popular for working with Bob Dylan in the late sixties) and it was the second official DOUBLE rock album released.
